A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belonging to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD” Leviticus 27.30

Revd Clive Devonish says 'As part of our growing Church in Greenside Parish, I would like to personally thank you for the part that you play in growing God’s Kingdom, where our aim is to be an all-member-ministry Church.

For those who are new to God’s Church here in Greenside, it’s great to have you with us. We welcome you on board at this most exciting time, pursuing and growing the Kingdom of God together. For those who have been with us for a longer time, you have no doubt experienced many changes and personally witnessed the numerical and spiritual growth in God’s Kingdom in this Parish. I thank God that you are all willing to be part of a Church that is awakening from its slumber and hungers to take God’s light to those living in darkness.

Our congregation has increased significantly over the past two years, due to hearts that want to reach out and people willing to put their faith into practice.  We thank God for those who come along to Alpha, for pre-school children attending Story Club, for new members in House Groups, Sunday Club, for the Outreach magazine reaching 3,600 homes in our villages, for those who find a listening ear and a chat at Coffee Stop – all achieved through Christians who want to obey Jesus.

God says in Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it”.

Tithing is a biblical principal. The Holy Scriptures say that we should tithe our income. This means that God encourages us to keep 90% of our income for ourselves and the remaining 10% goes into the mission of building God’s Kingdom.  It is important that we realise that tithing is different to giving – giving is in addition to tithing.

Because tithing is so important, we set an example as a church, in that we give away 10% of our general income to various mission projects that glorify God'.

The People's Kitchen: 'Our stocks of food were running low over the summer period, but thanks tp various organisations, including yours, our store rooms are filling up again, and the disadvantaged and lonely people of our area will be able to look forward to regular hot meals over the winter'. Robert Eldridge, Chair of the Trustees

Aquila Way: 'You cannot believe how much of a privilege it is for me to thank you for the contribution you have just made to the work of Aquila Way. We cannot do all we believe we're called to do without you. It is your gifts which often provide the icing on the cake which can turn around a young person's life, helping them to move on towards even greater things than we could ever dream. So thank you, thank you, thank you, we couldn't do it without you!  Jo Grant, Chief Executive

Revd Clive: 'Other organisations we have supported include: Christian Institute, Wycliffe, Christian Solidarity Worldwide and Streetlights. Can I encourage you to gracefully give regularly to the mission of God’s Church.

The  main ways of giving are:

  1. Standing Order direct into the church bank account - click here to download a Standing Order form
  2. Weekly Envelope scheme - see Jan Dumbell
  3. Give during the passing around of the collection plate

Gift Aid: if you are a tax payer, the good news is you can Gift Aid your tithe or giving. So for every £1 donated, Inland Revenue returns 28p back to the church - a Christian tax payer giving £100 per month means that Inland Revenue returns an extra £338 that year!  And all you need to do is to sign a Gift Aid form, which John Spencer has, or download a copy below.

  1. 'One-off' donations - click here to download a Single Donation form
  2. 'Ongoing' donations - click here to download an Ongoing Gift Aid form
