If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favour with you.' Exodus 33.13

Tom BrazierWelcome!

I am delighted to be the vicar of Greenside Parish, covering Crawcrook, Clara Vale, Coalburns and surrounds.

Greenside Parish churches exist to share the powerful love of God in Jesus Christ with all 8,850 or so people who live in the parish. I would hope that whoever you are, you could see our church as somewhere to find care, support and help when in need.

I want you to know that you are welcome to join us at any of our Sunday and Wednesday services. We also love to meet families seeking christenings, we love to make a church wedding possible for couples who feel this is important, and we want to be there for you through our funeral work when you lose a loved one.

I would also like to take this opportunity to tell you about our new monthly healing service. Our church has often seen God heal people and change their lives. We want to share this free gift from God with the people of our parish. Whatever you are suffering from, be it physical, emotional, mental or spiritual, we would love to discover with you what healing Jesus has in store for you. The healing service takes place at 4pm every second Sunday of the month at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Crawcrook and all are welcome.

Finally, if you see me about the parish, please say "Hi". I'd love to meet you.

All the very best,

Tom Brazier

About Greenside Parish:

Our Parish is made up of two churches - St John's Church in Greenside and Church of the Holy Spirit in Crawcrook. We worship as one congregation, alternating between the two venues. We are a friendly, lively Anglican church.  Greenside Parish belongs in Gateshead West Deanery, in Durham Diocese and is located 9 miles west of Gateshead, in the north east of England.

St John's Church is a more traditional building and Church of the Holy Spirit more contemporary. The distance between the two church venues is only a mile. We also have a large venue at St John's Community Hall, opposite St John's Church, which is well used by both church and community.  As a church, we aim to be faithful to the Good News of the Holy Scriptures. We believe in the authority of the Bible as the true revelation of God. We believe that the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today and seek God's wisdom in using them for the glory of His name. We believe the purpose of our Church is:

'To grow God's Kingdom by knowing Jesus and making Him known'
