Sunday 30 May – Trinity All Age

Welcome and Introduction (Gloria)

Welcome to our service this morning as it’s the 5th Sunday of the month we are celebrating together this ‘All Age’ service.

Thank you Father, Son & Holy Spirit as we celebrate Trinity Sunday. Tom may be sharing/illuminating the meaning of Trinity when he speaks to us later.

Our children will be taking part in the service today – Jessica is our reader and the intercessions, prepared by Simon Spencer, are led by the children.

Let’s pray:
Thank you our Father God that you love each one of us; everyone who loves you belongs to your family. You are our Father; we are your children. We thank you too for the worldwide family of your people, our Christian brothers and sisters, our friends – young and old – your church. Bless this your family as we come together now to praise you, to worship you, to listen, talk and learn more about you our Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Let’s join together in our first worship song:

Song (Gloria)

Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow

Confession (Gloria)

Forgiving and asking for forgiveness are necessary growing points in a world where we often wrong one another as well as wronging God. When we have chosen to go our own way instead of obeying our Father, for the wrongs we have done, times of bad temper and angry words, making others unhappy, we come now to ask for forgiveness.

We say together:
Almighty God, we confess we have sinned against You
in thought, word and deed:
We have not loved You with all our hearts;
We have not loved our neighbours as ourselves.
Have mercy on us:
Cleanse us from our sins;
And help us to overcome our faults:
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Absolution (Tom)

May the God of love and power
forgive you and free you from your sins,
heal and strengthen you by his Spirit,
and raise you to new life in Christ our Lord.

Birthdays & celebrations (Gloria)

Before we continue with our song of praise, we have Trish R’s birthday to celebrate.

Prayer for Trisha – Trisha we bless you and thank you that you are part of our church family. Lord, we thank you for this and every happy birthday which she has enjoyed. We pray that this new year will be filled with many times of happiness, laughter, and joy as you grow more in the knowledge of the love Jesus has for you. Happy Birthday Trish

Recent celebration to share is with the arrival of new babies – Elizabeth Rose born to Jamie and Melissa, Dawn and Ian grandparents to 2 new granddaughters from their son and daughter and to Eleanor a new baby granddaughter. Jesus, we ask your blessing on these babies and their families, may they grow in deeper love and understanding of you.

Song (Gloria)

Let Your Living Water

Collect (Gloria)

Almighty and everlasting God,
you have given us your servants grace,
by the confession of a true faith,
to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity
and in the power of the divine majesty to worship the Unity:
keep us steadfast in this faith,
that we may evermore be defended from all adversities;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Reading (Jessica)

Jessica will you please bring us our reading – John 3:1-17.

Talk and video (Tom)

Can we pray for you Tom before you bring that which has been laid on your heart to share with us?

Prayer: Tom, we thank God for you as you lead us in this parish. We thank you for the evident love you share about Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. We pray that our relationship with Jesus will grow deeper as we learn from the scripture and all that you share with us this morning. We pray Holy Spirit that as Tom gives out you will fill him to overflowing. Amen.

Song (Kirsty)

This I Believe

Intercessions (Children)

Intercessions are prepared by Simon for the children to lead and respond (transcript).

Well done children, you all did extremely well.

Lord’s Prayer

Gathering our prayers and praises together we say THE LORD’S PRAYER:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.

The Peace (Gloria)

Christ came to bring peace – peace between the believer and God, and peace between men. Let’s go to gallery view so we can see each other and share the peace.

We do not have a time of prayer ministry, via a link, this morning, however, please remember any urgent prayer requests can be made via Helen Hardisty who heads up distribution of prayer requests to the prayer ministry team.

Thank you all for sharing this time together, we can continue fellowship over a cuppa if you pop the kettle on. We will share news when in our breakout rooms.

Thank you to all who have participated, to Simon Longshaw for hosting ensuring all has run smoothly.

We have our final song this morning followed by the blessing and dismissal.

Song (Gloria)

Holy Holy Holy

Blessing and Dismissal (Tom / Rosemary)

God the Holy Trinity make you strong in faith and love,
defend you on every side,
and guide you in truth and peace;
and the blessing of of God Almighty,

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
